The Tampa Bay area is no stranger to some seriously delicious dining. Passion for the craft of filling spirits and stomachs abounds all across our great city and now, Ybor Aficionado Days will put that passion to the test when it hosts a Tapas Cooking Challenge.

This challenge is open to anyone with an original Tapas recipe looking to put it to the test against some fierce competition in Tampa.  All you've got to do is download and fill out the entry form with your basic information as well as step by step instructions, ingredients, and a picture of your original recipe.  Once filled out, you can email the form to tfavata@ybor.org or mail it to the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce at 1800 East 9th Avenue, Tampa, Florida 3360 by April 6.

So, what is Tapas?  Tapas are a wide variety of small snacks or appetizers found in Spanish cuisine that are perfect a small bite or sharing with friends.  If you think you've got the winning Tapas recipe, don't sleep on this opportunity.

Four finalists will be selected to prepare their recipe at the world famous Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City on Sunday, April 15.  After live judging by a panel of local celebrities and top chefs, a grand prize winner while be chosen and awarded $500.  Not bad, right?

The Tapas Cooking Challenge is just one part of Ybor Aficionado Days, a celebration of all things dining in Ybor City going down on the weekend of April 14 and 15.  Head out and taste what makes Tampa so great.
